Argentina

Argentina's musical identity was forged in the port cities of the Río de la Plata, where tango emerged in the late 19th century from a blend of European, African, and criollo influences. Beyond tango, folk traditions such as chacarera, zamba, and chamamé carry the rhythms and stories of its provinces, from the Andean northwest to the Litoral.
