Artists/France
France has shaped Western music for centuries, from medieval troubadours and the Baroque court to the Impressionism of Debussy and Ravel. Its living traditions include chanson, the musette of Parisian dance halls, and regional folk music from Brittany to Occitanie, enriched by the jazz and African sounds that have made Paris a global musical crossroads.
